Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. I can’t believe I have to start thinking about my Fall to-read list already. I did a decent job getting through the Summer list I posted, but some cuts had to be made as my schedule suddenly got busier.
It was pretty easy to conclude what I’d need to be getting to this season, as I still have a handful of personal reading challenges that need finishing up. Since autumn lasts until nearly the end of December, these are essentially the books I mean to get to between the start of October and the end of the year.Read More »
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. For this week’s post, I’m afraid I may have bungled my interpretation of this week’s topic. I read it as referring to myself, but topics in the past used first-person references for that. Oops…
Maybe these books will put a smile on your face anyway, but when I put together this list before I started actually writing this post, it was under a different pretense, so take that for what you will. My specific criteria for these were books that I still think about, maybe just an aspect of or moment from it, that makes me laugh or feel some facet of joy. Maybe both, who’s to say, but for some of these they’re smaller, fragmentary things that have stayed with me.Read More »
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme for this week is books I wish I could read for the first time again, but I’ve modified it a little to include some book series as well. I love them as a whole, but wouldn’t choose just one of them to read like new again.
I’ve tried to pick from books I’ve read less recently, but it’s really hard when fresher books are competing in your mind, isn’t it?Read More »
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This is my first time participating two weeks in a row; as a sucker for a good cover, I just couldn’t resist taking part.
For this list, I’ve tried to supply a balance of books I’ve already bought because of the title/cover, and books that caught my eye but I don’t have yet.
I’m sure there’s a book or two that I’m forgetting that would be perfect for this list, but putting myself on the spot to remember specific books has me struggling. No big deal, though, it’ll just bother me forever.Read More »
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. I don’t participate every week, but when a topic catches my eye I like to jump in.
I have a hard time choosing what to read next at the best of times, so the idea of picking just 10 books to have with me on a deserted island is really tough. Since it’s a situation where I’d be stranded, however, I started to think specifically about what books I’d be most fine with reading over and over. These are potentially the only books I’ll ever be able to read ever again, after all.
There are some series I love enough that I feel they should be here, but they’re sort of an all-or-nothing type deal, and we don’t want a list that’s 80% Dark Tower books or something. Let’s forgo anything practical too. I’m sure some books about agriculture or building shelter would be more useful to me than a novel, but we’re in the land of hypotheticals here. What’s the fun in practicality, right?Read More »
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. Though I’ve only participated in TTT once before, I really like the idea of it and try to keep an eye out for topics I’m inspired to make a list for.
I’m often quite bad at making up my mind about what to read next, so I saw this week’s topic as a great opportunity to get all of my ducks in a row and lay out what I hope to read this summer, in my mind specifically meaning from July through to the end of September. I don’t read especially fast, so 10 whole books for those three months felt a tad too ambitious for me, but I think I’ve drawn up a list I can reasonably expect myself to get through.Read More »
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s not a weekly post I’ve ever participated in before, but I check in on it from time to time in case I’m hit with inspiration. Turns out this is the week, though I’ve dragged my feet a little, as today’s list is a “Spring Cleaning Freebie.”
The first thought that comes to mind when I think of spring cleaning and books is getting rid of books…which I generally avoid doing. I just don’t want to part with them, if I can help it. It also conjures the image of dusting things off, however, and I have an unfortunate amount of books that have been collecting a ridiculous amount of dust over the years. So, my list for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday is 10 books that have sat on my shelf for over five years (a few definitely over 10, honestly) that I really ought to dust off and read.Read More »
