The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is simple yet fun, as all I had to do was grab 10 books randomly from my shelf. I have a lot of books scattered around, however, so some of them were taken from the back of my actual bookshelf and others were taken from the stacks of books on the table next to my desk. I can’t help but fret a little that my selection doesn’t feel as random as it should, but in the spirit of things I kept it as they were selected.Read More »

Series I’d Like to Start/Catch up on/Finish

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is a TTT rewind, where we can pick a previous topic that we missed, so I decided I’d like to put together a list of books that fit all three of the criteria in the title. I imagine I could have picked one of the three, but I’d rather take advantage of the more broad approach. I’m not sure how to feel about how many series I’ve actually got lined up, but it’ll be nice to put them all together in one place.Read More »

Books on My Winter 2022–2023 To-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. I always like topics like this for these posts because it’s a great way to get thinking about what I feel like reading, not just what I may have laid out ages beforehand. This is especially considering a new year coming up, with presumably new personal reading challenges to be had that I haven’t really thought about yet. Though this will include 10 books, I’m fairly certain I won’t read all of them listed here during winter; I’ve just been too slow lately. Nevertheless, these are all books I’d really like to get to in the coming winter season.Read More »

Books I’m Thankful that School Had Me Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week is a “thankful freebie”, which I presume is because American Thanksgiving is this week. I’m Canadian, so Thanksgiving was back in October for me, but I thought I’d take this opportunity to put together a list of books I’m thankful for. To make the list a little more considered, I decided to provide a list of ten books I’m grateful for having to read in school. Ever since high school and university, I’ve only ever really chosen books out of personal interest; I don’t really follow any book clubs or things like them. So, that was the last real time in my life that it wasn’t up to me what I needed to read. I’m not sure I’ve properly plumbed the depths of every syllabus I’ve ever been given, but I’m happy with this all the same.Read More »

Books On My Fall 2022 To-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. Considering how poorly my reading progress has gone throughout the year, it’s rather generous to believe that all ten of these books will be read before the end of the year (I’m just going to go ahead and count Fall as from now until the end of December). Nevertheless, this was a rather easy list to fill, as I do indeed intend to try and read all of these during this span of time. A great many of these are taken from my yearly to-read list, in fact, so I’ll actually be rather disappointed if I don’t get to most of them.Read More »

Books I Loved So Much I Had to Get a Copy for My Personal Library

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. I’m amused with how surprisingly difficult I found this week’s prompt to be, as it seemed an easy one to provide ten books for, but I tend to buy the books that I read so much that it’s rare for me to read a book that isn’t already a part of my personal library. Nevertheless, after some digging, I was able to find some books that qualify, though some of them are repurchases of more worthy editions.Read More »

Books I Love That Were Written Over Ten Years Ago

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts, but whenever I see one that I know I can easily answer I try to post one of my own. Initially, I started to be concerned that this will be a list not unlike a lot of others. In that vein, certain obvious answers aren’t being included here. I’m sure I don’t need to once again talk about how Far-Seer is among my favourite books. So, I followed this week’s topic to the letter, but tried to pick some books that I’m fond of but don’t immediately spring to mind, just to keep things interesting.Read More »

10 Books on my Bookish Wish List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is to list 10 of my bookish wishes with access to a wish list so that somebody might grant that wish for me, if they so choose. I’d rather abstain from that aspect of this list, while still thinking about what books I might especially want, generally speaking. I’m just not comfortable with doing that, personally, no judgment to those who do want to.

I feel like a list like this would have been easier for me 10 years ago when I still had many books yet to purchase. As I write this intro, I haven’t even completely figured out all 10 entries yet. I’m thinking, however, that at least a few of them will probably be books I have already, but nicer or deluxe editions. But who knows, let’s see what I come up with.Read More »

10 Books I Was SO EXCITED to Get but Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. It probably says a lot about me that I find topics akin to this easy to answer. It’s hard not to get excited about certain books sometimes, so much that you just have to go out and get it, but with so many books to read and only so much time, there are a number that invariably get left to sit and wait. Here are ten books that I went out of my way to pick up quite a while ago that I still haven’t read yet.Read More »

10 Books with Animals on the Cover

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is a fill-in-the-blank, and initially I decided to choose “eye-catching art” as my topic. Then I realized that not only have I done a list like that before, but over half of the books I chose were also on that previous list. Boo to me. So, I decided to go with animals instead, because animals are cool and I like them. I definitely didn’t panic and go to bed first because I didn’t have any ideas after the previous list fell through. I do legitimately love these covers, though, so don’t worry about that.Read More »
